Valentine's Day is upon us! Are you guys tired of February's love vomit yet? I'm really not (clearly). Don't worry though, it's almost over, haters. I threw together this puffy-heart garland last week for an extra blerp of celebration around here and because I'm crafty and shiz. Why not embrace the pardon for pretty in an otherwise dismal month? ...Even though pink is not actually a color.
And you know what's funny about my momentary madness for hearts and this healthy hue? I am truly FAR from the girl who holds the actual holiday high and heavy on my boy's shoulders. We might do something, we might not. (... on my terms. He's always been such a darling about it.) I'll probably whip up this heart-filled ten minute dark chocolate cake that my French mama used to make on special occasions... special like daily life. It really is such a gem of a recipe.
Philly is one of those believers (assuming he's not alone) that thinks potatoes are a better representation of love than a bouquet of flowers, be flowers the seed-bearing and beautiful part of a plant. Umm what, you wonder? A brilliant ploy to never buy your girl blooms? Maybe, but I can dig it... and nor does he buy me potatoes as a grand gesture. If you think about it, potatoes symbolize growth and sustainability, rather than an ephemeral and external beauty. Yada Yada. Anyway, we shall see.. he's away on business today. I'll just be happy to share the air with him for Valentine's day.

Maybe he'd buy you some mashed potatoes with black truffles? I'd like those a lot more than flowers FOR SURE
